Teaming up once again with popular San Diego talk show host Roger Hedgecock, FAIR and other advocates of true comprehensive immigration reform are gearing up for this year’s events where the stakes are even higher

FAIR is urging all its members, and any others interested in True Comprehensive Immigration Reform to join this national grassroots effort in Washington and counter the expected push for amnesty from groups supporting open borders and illegal alien special interests.

Dozens of talk hosts from across the country have already made plans to attend this year’s Hold Their Feet to the Fire and will broadcast live from “Radio Row” on Capitol Hill with a unified voice against illegal alien amnesty. In conjunction with hundreds of listeners, activists, and congressional supporters, the event is designed to be a high profile, synergistic effort to pressure Congress not to pass illegal alien amnesty. This year’s event is expected to be the largest ever, with widespread media coverage.

Our focus for this year’s Hold Their Feet to the Fire will be tell new congressional leadership that there is strong and widespread opposition to any proposal that includes increases in guest workers, expansion of government mandated immigration, and amnesty for illegal aliens.
The four day schedule of activities includes a Capitol Hill Lobbying Campaign organizing hundreds of participants who will visit their legislators urging them to oppose illegal alien amnesty and push for stronger border enforcement. Additional press conferences, live interviews with Congressmen and Senators, receptions and special events are planned to put radio hosts, listeners, and hundreds of activists together at the front lines of the illegal alien amnesty debate

Other Washington DC areas hotels and motel availability can be found at serveral different travel sites like Hotels.com, Expedia.com, Travelocity.com and others. One particularly good nearby location just across the river in Virginia is Crystal City (Arlington VA) with plenty of hotels, motels, restaurants and metro subway access.

For those who cannot come to Washington during that week, FAIR will provide contact information so that immigration reform activists can call their representatives and be a part of this historic event from home. We are also encouraging our members to contact radio talk show hosts in their cities and urge them to join the national Hold Their Feet to the Fire campaign. Our opponents will be pulling out all the stops in their effort to pass an illegal alien amnesty in 2007, and we must be equally as adamant in demonstrating to the White House and Congress that such a plan is vehemently opposed by the overwhelming majority of Americans.

Radio talk hosts represent millions of listeners and their collective voice is a voice that roars! Join us to ensure that Congress hears our voices in April!
